GREEN STREET TAVERN

St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in the Green Street Tavern this year as The Purple Gang added green to their wardrobe.

Would you believe that I am Irish? I know we are all Irish on St. Patrick's Day, but even though I have a Yugoslav name, I am part Irish. My mother's family is English, Irish and Scottish. Though, truth be told my Irish ancestors were orange men, and would not have worn the green of St. Patrick on his day.

If you have any pictures of our March get together feel free to send them along to me for posting. Again, I did not bring my camera. I find I have so much fun, I forget to take pictures anyway if I do remember it. However, I will try to remember in the future.

I must have had a good time at our March luncheon, I don't remember much of it. Well Erin Go Bra to you all, and Happy Birthday to our March birthday gals. Jeanette, Gail and Gertrude. If I left you out, let me know.

O'CHARLEY'S IN FEBRUARY

OUR FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW YEAR

On January 14th, get all fired up and meet us at Big Al's Fire House 49035 Schoenherr, Shelby Township. Your Contessa of Electronic Communication has been a bit under the weather the past couple of weeks, so apologizes for not posting this meeting earlier. I am really bad at names, so in order to not offend anyone by leaving them out, I choose not to identify anyone. Anyway, you know who you are, and you know who you know. If you want someone identified that you don't know, print out the picture then find them at the next meeting and ask them who they are.

WE WENT TO A GERMAN LUAU

Pat Brock, Sue Starcevic, & Marion Milner represented The Purple Gang at a Luau at Frankenmuth's Bavarian Inn in July . The food was great, the entertainment fun, and all of us Purple Gangers, had a great time. Really! Pay no attention to the picture. Some of us were just not ready for our picture to be taken

Not all at the luau were over 50 or dressed in Hawaiian gear. We were entertained by a fashion show. A Fashion show of Vintage and Antique fashions, some of which were worn by our younger sisters. Very interesting

BLOG SPAMERS CAUSE WAVY WORD USE

Unfortunately, there are now enough bloggers that spamers have come crawling out of their holes to try to prey on us. Just after posting the first post on The Purple Gang blog, we got a comment. The comment started, "I like your blog ." It went on to say that I could find information on how to buy low cost prescription drugs on their site. I said to myself, "Oh no, how did they find this blog so fast?" Blah!!

Luckily, there is a sort of off button on blog settings. Therefore, if you want to leave comments , you will have to copy one of those wavy word pictures. I know it is somewhat inconvenient, and I am sorry about that, but there seems to always be someone who ruins good things for the rest of us.

So, I deleted the offending comment and changed the setting to wavy word verification for your comments.
